Flower Care

Caring for your …

CUT FLOWERS

Using sharp scissors or a knife cut, at a slant,

·      one inch off the bottom of the soft stemmed flowers

·      one to three inches off hard and woody stems.

Place the flowers in a clean container, in deep water adding the flower food provided. Top the water up daily.

Remove all leaves, which are below the water line.

Keep the flowers away from draughts, sunlight and radiators.   The cooler the room the longer the flowers will last. The room should be no less than 7 degrees centigrade.

Remove blooms as they fade. Should any flower start to flag, again treat as above.

It is advisable to change the water completely every two to three days.

FLOWER ARRANGEMENT

On receipt of your flower arrangement, top up the container with water.  Keep topped up daily as flowers drink water.

Keep the flowers away from draughts, sunlight and radiators. The cooler the room the longer the flowers will last. The room should be no less than 7 degrees centigrade.

Remove blooms as they fade. Should any flower start to flag, again treat as above.

ROSES

Bouquet of Roses: remove one inch from the stem with a sharp knife or scissors and cut on the angle. Do not crush the stem as this will prevent the rose taking up water.  Place in a clean deep vase filled with water with the flower food added.

Hand Tied Bouquet of Roses – Do not untie your flowers. Cut stems as above and stand in a vase of water with flower food added.  Change water in the vase every three days.

If the rose head flops, cut off the stem end as above and stand the rose in one inch of boiling water as soon as possible.

Keep the roses away from draughts, fruit and radiators, the cooler the room the longer they will last. The room should be no less than 7 degrees centigrade.
